Decarburization in High Alloy Steels
By Magdalene Joy Jackson - Graduate Student of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 2012
The purpose of this FIERF sponsored study is to expand the current database of known decarburization depths at given temperatures and to indicate the relationship chromium (Cr) has as an alloying element in high, medium, and low quantities. The steels considered for this study were D2, A2, and O1 tool steels with high, medium, and low chromium content.
